Make-or-Break

Experience tells us that the implementation step is the 'make-or-break' step. Many good ideas and resulting good designs fail because of flawed implementation. In many situations what to do can be quite straight-forward; how to accomplish it is a different story!

Essentially ergonomics is about change. In fact, in ErgoBASICS, ergonomics was defined as changing the set of circumstances to change the result.

Frankly, for many individuals and organizations, change from the status quo or introduction of a new workstation or work process is difficult.

Essentially, the implementation step actually started from the very beginning of the design process. One of the most influential methods to gain acceptance to change is to include the stakeholders in the design process.

"People support what they help to create!" is an appropriate motto.
